Griffith University Digital Technologies Implementation workshops

12 August @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

With the support of Google, the Griffith University Teacher Education Industry Advisory Group (TEIAG), and the Gold Coast chapter of QSITE, we are running a series of free 3-hour F2F workshops to assist up to 120 Gold Coast (and SE QLD) teachers in implementing the Digital Technologies curriculum over five Saturdays starting July 15 from 1pm to 4pm.
It will be held on the Gold Coast campus of Griffith University and include hands-on activities with a wide range of ICT’s useful in teaching the new Digital Technologies subject, including games, robots, drones and electronics kits.
While you do not have to attend every workshop, it is designed as a course – though with no formal assessment 🙂
While not a prerequisite, if you are one of the 1600 teachers who has completed or is currently completing my online course through DET, these workshops are focused on preparing a scope and sequences of activities or facilitating project-based learning classroom environments, and while not as comprehensive as the 8 weeks online course, are an opportunity to go beyond what is possible online and explore a smaller set of options in a more applied and concentrated way.
Registrations are on a first come basis, though I am looking for a few QSITE’ers to help with sessions, please register but also email me if you would like to help in this capacity (everything will be organised, you just need to manage a breakout room of prepared activities).
